El Dr. Jos\u00e9 Miguel Mart\u00edn Mart\u00ednez es Catedr\u00e1tico de Qu\u00edmica Inorg\u00e1nica en la Universidad de Alicante, donde se incorpor\u00f3 en 1981 y fund\u00f3 el Laboratorio de Adhesi\u00f3n y Adhesivos\u00a0en 1990, siendo\u00a0pionero en implantar la ciencia de la Adhesi\u00f3n en Espa\u00f1a, logrando ser\u00a0referencia internacional en su campo.<\/p>\n

A lo largo de m\u00e1s de cuatro d\u00e9cadas, ha desarrollado una destacada trayectoria acad\u00e9mica y cient\u00edfica, liderando investigaciones pioneras en adhesi\u00f3n y adhesivos, tratamientos superficiales, adhesivos para caucho y poliuretano, nanocomposites, materiales h\u00edbridos inorg\u00e1nico-org\u00e1nicos, bioadhesivos\u00a0y adhesivos ecosostenibles. Sus trabajos han tenido aplicaciones en sectores como la industria del calzado, la construcci\u00f3n, la medicina y la conservaci\u00f3n del patrimonio.<\/p>\n

Su producci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica incluye m\u00e1s de 275 art\u00edculos indexados, 56 libros y cap\u00edtulos, 34 patentes y cientos de contribuciones en congresos internacionales. Ha dirigido m\u00e1s de 45 tesis doctorales\u00a0y asesorado numerosos proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n y transferencia.<\/p>\n

Entre los reconocimientos m\u00e1s relevantes\u00a0de su carrera destaca el Premio Robert L. Patrick Fellowship, otorgado por la\u00a0American Adhesion Society\u00a0<\/i>en 2013, siendo el primer investigador espa\u00f1ol en recibir esta distinci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, ha ocupado cargos de liderazgo en sociedades cient\u00edficas\u00a0internacionales, como la presidencia de la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Adhesi\u00f3n\u00a0y la participaci\u00f3n en el comit\u00e9 directivo de EURADH. Es editor-in-Chief de la revista Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology.<\/p>\n

Todo ello, sumado a su compromiso con la innovaci\u00f3n y la formaci\u00f3n de investigadores lo sit\u00faa como una figura clave en el avance del conocimiento sobre adhesi\u00f3n y materiales funcionales, con impacto tanto acad\u00e9mico como industrial.<\/p>\n

Dr. Jos\u00e9 Miguel Mart\u00edn Mart\u00ednez is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Alicante, where he joined in 1981 and founded the Adhesion and Adhesives Laboratory in 1990. He was a pioneer in implementing the science of adhesion in Spain, becoming an international reference in his field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over more than four decades, he has developed an outstanding academic and scientific career, leading pioneering research in adhesion and adhesives, surface treatments, adhesives for rubber and polyurethane, nanocomposites, inorganic-organic hybrid materials, bioadhesives and eco-sustainable adhesives. His work has had applications in sectors such as the footwear industry, construction, medicine and heritage conservation.<\/span><\/p>\n

His scientific output includes more than 275 indexed articles, 56 books and chapters, 34 patents and hundreds of contributions to international conferences. He has supervised more than 45 doctoral theses and advised on numerous research and transfer projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the most significant recognitions of his career is the Robert L. Patrick Fellowship Award, granted by the American Adhesion Society in 2013, making him the first Spanish researcher to receive this distinction. He has also held leadership positions in international scientific societies, such as the presidency of the Spanish Adhesion Society and membership of the EURADH steering committee. He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

All this, combined with his commitment to innovation and the training of researchers, makes him a key figure in the advancement of knowledge about adhesion and functional materials, with both academic and industrial impact.<\/span><\/p>\n
