Pecio Bou Ferrer<\/p><\/div>\n\nAut\u00e9nticos tesoros marinos permanecen\u00a0 hoy en d\u00eda enterrados en el fondo del mar siendo el Mediterr\u00e1neo uno de los m\u00e1s importantes receptores de los mismos. Son millares el n\u00famero de pecios y restos hist\u00f3ricos que constituyen un testimonio \u00fanico de la historia de la humanidad y su relaci\u00f3n con el oc\u00e9ano. \u00a0La preservaci\u00f3n y custodia de los mismos supone un enorme reto, el cual qued\u00f3 evidenciado el pasado mes de junio en la Conferencia Internacional sobre el Patrimonio Cultural Subacu\u00e1tico organizada por la UNESCO y el gobierno de Francia. Esta conferencia de Brest se inscribe dentro de los esfuerzos del Decenio de las Naciones Unidas para las ciencias oce\u00e1nicas al servicio del desarrollo sostenible (2021-2030),<\/a>\u00a0que aboga por la protecci\u00f3n del oc\u00e9ano, sus recursos y los vestigios que encierra.\n\nSe debatieron aspectos tales como el papel que la tecnolog\u00eda \u00a0y la ciencia pueden tener \u00a0para ayudar a preservar los sitios; si las herramientas actuales de actuaci\u00f3n frente a los saqueadores de pecios son suficientes o en su defecto si existe una urgencia en su incremento; o las consecuencias \u00a0del turismo exacerbado o mal llamado \"turismo cultural\". La Directora General de la UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay hizo un llamamiento a la cooperaci\u00f3n internacional entre los Estados para la protecci\u00f3n del patrimonio subacu\u00e1tico.\n\nElaborada en 2001 y ratificada por 61 Estados Partes, la Convenci\u00f3n sobre la Protecci\u00f3n del Patrimonio Cultural Subacu\u00e1tico<\/a> tiene por vocaci\u00f3n ayudar a los Estados a proteger mejor su patrimonio sumergido.\n\nEl pecio Bou Ferrer,<\/strong>\u00a0una gran nave mercante romana naufragada a mediados del s. I d.C. frente a las costas de Villajoyosa (Alicante), es el \u00fanico gran mercante del periodo romano en todo el Mediterr\u00e1neo que combina un inigualable estado de conservaci\u00f3n, junto con una profundidad bajo el mar asequible a los arque\u00f3logos subacu\u00e1ticos. A cargo del equipo dirigido por el arque\u00f3logo Carlos de Juan<\/strong>, la excavaci\u00f3n es adem\u00e1s un ejemplo de accesibilidad, tanto del sitio, por medio de visitas dirigidas, como de los materiales recuperados, por la futura exposici\u00f3n en el Museo de Villajoyosa.<\/strong>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
