<\/a>\nLa norma fue establecida en 1997, concebida por el Instituto de Informaci\u00f3n Getty y desarrollada por medio de la colaboraci\u00f3n con la comunidad muse\u00edstica internacional, cuerpos policiales y agencias aduaneras, el comercio de antig\u00fcedades y de arte, tasadores y la industria aseguradora. El ICOM posee la licencia para promover el uso de esta norma entre los profesionales de los museos y para este fin organiza talleres sobre su aplicaci\u00f3n en colaboraci\u00f3n con la UNESCO, la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de Aduanas (OMA) y la INTERPOL .\n\nLa norma Object ID define nueve categor\u00edas informativas y cuatro pasos para llevar a cabo el procedimiento. <\/a>\n\n\nObject Identification (Object ID) es una norma internacional utilizada para describir objetos culturales, facilitando la identificaci\u00f3n de las colecciones de objetos arqueol\u00f3gicos, culturales y art\u00edsticos en caso de p\u00e9rdida o robo. De esta manera, establece procedimientos normalizados para documentar y describir dichos objetos.\n\nEn caso de robo, la informaci\u00f3n recopilada gracias al uso de la norma Object ID puede informar f\u00e1cilmente a las bases de datos de objetos robados, tales como la base de datos sobre obras de arte robadas de la INTERPOL. La norma Object ID fue creada a modo de recurso pr\u00e1ctico para facilitar la recuperaci\u00f3n de bienes culturales robados y actualmente est\u00e1 reconocida a nivel internacional como una herramienta necesaria y efectiva a la hora de inventariar una colecci\u00f3n.\n
