Tal d\u00eda como hoy en 1740, naci\u00f3 Jeanne Baret<\/strong> en La Comelle, Francia. Como bot\u00e1nica, dedic\u00f3 toda su vida a explorar terrenos en busca de nuevas especies vegetales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A su vez, fue la primera mujer en dar la vuelta al mundo con la expedici\u00f3n de Bougainville -militar que protagoniz\u00f3 la primera circunnavegaci\u00f3n francesa- de 1766 a 1769. Se vio obligada a disfrazarse de marinero y a alistarse a la expedici\u00f3n con el nombre masculino de Jean Baret para poder dedicarse a lo que m\u00e1s amaba: la investigaci\u00f3n de nuevas especies bot\u00e1nicas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aprovechamos esta efem\u00e9ride para presentar el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible n\u00famero 5: Igualdad de G\u00e9nero<\/strong>. Con \u00e9l, se pretende conseguir la eliminaci\u00f3n de la discriminaci\u00f3n por cuesti\u00f3n de g\u00e9nero, erradicando la violencia y la brecha salarial, entre otras metas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde la C\u00e1tedra Unesco Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural agradecemos la oce\u00e1nica valent\u00eda de estas mujeres, que nos recuerdan que jugamos un papel fundamental en la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

253 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, sabemos que las mujeres no necesitan ning\u00fan tipo de disfraz para disfrutar de todo lo explorado. Seguimos a bordo de una expedici\u00f3n que pretende alcanzar uno de los objetivos m\u00e1s deseados de la Agenda 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JEANNE BARET: A BRAVE FEMALE OCEAN EXPLORER<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today in 1740, Jeanne Baret <\/strong>was born in La Comelle, France. As a botanist, she dedicated her entire life to exploring the land in search of new plant species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, she was the first woman to circumnavigate the world with Bougainville's expedition - a military man who led the first French circumnavigation - from 1766 to 1769. She was forced to dressed herself as a sailor man and join the expedition under the male name of Jean Baret in order to devote herself to what she loved most: researching new botanical species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to take this opportunity to present Sustainable Development Goal number 5: Gender Equality<\/strong>. It aims to achieve the elimination of gender discrimination, eradicating violence and the wage gap, among other goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage we are grateful for the oceanic courage of these women, who remind us that we play a fundamental role in research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

253 years later, we know that women do not need any kind of disguise to enjoy everything explored. We are still on board an expedition that aims to achieve one of the most desired goals of the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
