La colecci\u00f3n de negativos en vidrio se encuentra conservados en el <strong>Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de Espa\u00f1a (IPCE)<\/strong>. Tanto los cristales como las emulsiones que descansan sobre ellos y producen la imagen han experimentado cambios en su estado por una mala presencia de humedad.<\/p>\n<p>El IPCE acoge alrededor de 11.000 unidades de retratos, vistas de ciudades y escenas populares de la Espa\u00f1a del siglo XIX. Jean Laurent fue nombrado fot\u00f3grafo de c\u00e1mara en 1860 por la reina Isabel II, labor a trav\u00e9s de la cual, realiz\u00f3 numerosos retratos a personajes relevantes del momento e inmortaliz\u00f3 tanto espect\u00e1culos, como monumentos y obras de ingenier\u00eda, viajando por toda la pen\u00ednsula. El Ministerio de Cultura reconoce que, tras su fallecimiento en 1866, Laurent dej\u00f3 el archivo visual espa\u00f1ol m\u00e1s importante de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. El CSIF apunta que, los <strong>vidrios al colodi\u00f3n<\/strong> (procedimiento fotogr\u00e1fico) precisan de una humedad que var\u00eda entre el 30% y el 40%; detectando que \u00faltimamente, el porcentaje ha aumentado hasta llegar a un 60% de manera continuada.<\/p>\n<p>La fotograf\u00eda hist\u00f3rica es una de las formas m\u00e1s reales y fieles de conocer nuestra sociedad y cada uno de los procedimientos fotogr\u00e1ficos configuran la evoluci\u00f3n de un proceso de captura de momentos y sensaciones.
