ACTUALIZACI\u00d3N DE LA CARTA DE TURISMO CULTURAL INTERNACIONAL ICOMOS<\/h3>\t\t\t

ICOMOS<\/strong> anuncia la publicaci\u00f3n de la actualizaci\u00f3n de la Carta de Turismo Cultural Internacional ICOMOS<\/strong>, aprobada en su \u00faltima Asamblea General en octubre de 2022 en Bangkok (Tailandia)<\/strong> gracias al trabajo del Comit\u00e9 Internacional de Turismo Cultural de ICOMOS (CICT).<\/p>\n

La \u00faltima actualizaci\u00f3n de esta Carta fue aprobada por la Asamblea General de ICOMOS en M\u00e9xico en octubre de 1999 y sustituy\u00f3 a la Carta del Turismo Cultural de ICOMOS de 1976. La entidad ha trabajado todo este tiempo en su actualizaci\u00f3n con la finalidad de mantenerla al d\u00eda en cuanto a las normas, las buenas pr\u00e1cticas y los principios actuales a la hora de relacionar el turismo y los lugares o colecciones de importancia patrimonial.<\/p>\n

Desde su \u00faltima actualizaci\u00f3n en 1999, se han producido distintos eventos significativos como la Convenci\u00f3n para la Salvaguarda del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, la Declaraci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas, la introducci\u00f3n de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y la designaci\u00f3n en 2017 del A\u00f1o Internacional del Turismo Sostenible para el Desarrollo por las Naciones Unidas.<\/p>\n

En este documento actualizado se abordan temas como la emergencia clim\u00e1tica, el crecimiento exponencial del turismo en sitios culturales y el gran impacto que ha tenido el turismo en los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os. La visi\u00f3n otorgada se encuentra basada en el patrimonio cultural y su disfrute junto a los derechos de las personas. De esta manera, se pretende fomentar un cambio en la visi\u00f3n sobre el turismo, evitando la explotaci\u00f3n comercial del patrimonio cultural y garantizar la distribuci\u00f3n justa e inclusiva de sus efectos positivos.<\/p>\n

Dentro del marco internacional de conservaci\u00f3n de ICOMOS, la Carta se centra en la identidad cultural de las comunidades anfitrionas y los intereses, expectativas y comportamiento de los visitantes, promoviendo la participaci\u00f3n de la comunidad en todos los aspectos de planificaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n del turismo, especialmente en aquellos sitios y paisajes patrimoniales y ciudades hist\u00f3ricas.<\/p>\n

UPDATE OF THE ICOMOS INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL TOURISM CHARTER<\/strong><\/p>\n

ICOMOS<\/strong> announces the publication of the updated ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Charter<\/strong>, approved at its last General Assembly in October 2022 in Bangkok (Thailand)<\/strong> thanks to the work of the ICOMOS International Committee on Cultural Tourism (ICCT).<\/p>\n

The last update of this Charter was approved by the ICOMOS General Assembly in Mexico in October 1999 and replaced the 1976 ICOMOS Cultural Tourism Charter. The organization has worked all this time to update it in order to keep it up to date with current standards, best practices and principles when it comes to relating tourism and sites or collections of heritage significance.<\/p>\n

Since its last update in 1999, there have been several significant events such as the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals and the designation in 2017 of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development by the United Nations.<\/p>\n

This updated document addresses issues such as the climate emergency, the exponential growth of tourism in cultural sites and the great impact tourism has had in the last 20 years. The vision given is based on cultural heritage and its enjoyment along with the rights of people. In this way, it is intended to promote a change in the vision of tourism, avoiding the commercial exploitation of cultural heritage and guaranteeing the fair and inclusive distribution of its positive effects.<\/p>\n

Within the international conservation framework of ICOMOS, the Charter focuses on the cultural identity of host communities and the interests, expectations and behavior of visitors, promoting community participation in all aspects of tourism planning and management, especially in heritage sites and landscapes and historic cities.<\/p>\n
