En 2020 fue reconocido con el m\u00e1ximo galard\u00f3n que se entrega en Espa\u00f1a a un maestro artesano, el Premio Driehaus de las Artes de la Construcci\u00f3n Tradicional, el equivalente en artesan\u00eda a los Premios Cervantes en Literatura.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigo comenz\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n en la Escuela de Arte de Valladolid, pasando posteriormente a la Escola de Canteiros de Poio en Pontevedra, formaci\u00f3n que m\u00e1s tarde complet\u00f3 en Italia. Una vez formaba parte del mundo de la Historia del Arte, decidi\u00f3 graduarse para ampliar su conocimiento.<\/p>\n<p>Su obra se ha extendido por todo el pa\u00eds. Ha trabajado principalmente en la conservaci\u00f3n de monumentos en piedra y construcci\u00f3n tradicional. Ha dejado su huella en intervenciones en catedrales como Santiago de Compostela, Le\u00f3n, Jaca, Pamplona, Calahorra, Girona, \u00c1vila o monasterios como Santa mar\u00eda de Huerta, El Escorial, Santa Creus, iglesias rom\u00e1nicas, g\u00f3ticas, edificios civiles como el Hotel Reconquista de Oviedo, universidad de Salamanca, el Arco de Medinaceli y otros encargos a nivel p\u00fablico y privado.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigo acumulaba un gran conocimiento en la talla y la construcci\u00f3n en piedra y persegu\u00eda el anhelo de conseguir belleza a trav\u00e9s de t\u00e9cnicas tradicionales y artesanales.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el Grupo Espa\u00f1ol de Conservaci\u00f3n, se est\u00e1 realizando un conjunto de difusiones de distintas conferencias de Rodrigo de la Torre. Este homenaje pretende recordar y reconocer su gran labor. A continuaci\u00f3n, se adjuntan los v\u00eddeos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>T<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yBrbbNIDTjY\">\u00e9cnicas de extracci\u00f3n y de talla anteriores a la era industrial.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aBCck0KVoPA\">Obra de canter\u00eda: definici\u00f3n, conceptos b\u00e1sicos y terminolog\u00eda.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zt6FP2RgN84\">El P\u00f3rtico de la Gloria, Catedral de Santiago de Compostela.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HxUheMcnuFw\">Fachada barroca de la Catedral de Girona.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>__<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRIBUTE TO RODRIGO DE LA TORRE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just a few weeks ago, the sad news came that<strong> Rodrigo de la Torre<\/strong>, a great <strong>master craftsman of stone<\/strong>, had left us.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigo de la Torre was one of the last representatives who kept alive the real concept of master craftsman. In 2020 he was recognized with the highest award given in Spain to a master craftsman, the Driehaus Award for Traditional Building Arts, the equivalent in craftsmanship to the Cervantes Awards in Literature.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigo began his training at the School of Art in Valladolid, later moving on to the Escola de Canteiros de Poio in Pontevedra, training which he later completed in Italy. Once he was part of the world of Art History, he decided to graduate in order to broaden his knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>His work has spread throughout the country. He has worked mainly in the conservation of stone monuments and traditional construction. He has left his mark in interventions in cathedrals such as Santiago de Compostela, Le\u00f3n, Jaca, Pamplona, Calahorra, Girona, \u00c1vila or monasteries such as Santa Mar\u00eda de Huerta, El Escorial, Santa Creus, Romanesque and Gothic churches, civil buildings such as the Reconquista Hotel in Oviedo, the University of Salamanca, the Arch of Medinaceli and other public and private commissions.<\/p>\n<p>Rodrigo accumulated a great knowledge in stone carving and construction and pursued the desire to achieve beauty through traditional techniques and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n<p>From the Spanish Conservation Group, a series of diffusions of different conferences of Rodrigo de la Torre is being carried out. This tribute aims to remember and recognize his great work.
