El estilo arquitect\u00f3nico del edificio es el art d\u00e9co valenciano. Se trata del \u00faltimo cine de la \u00e9poca de la Segunda Rep\u00fablica (1932-1934), en el que se respet\u00f3 la fachada original del edificio de 1882, obra de Gaspar Latorre.<\/p>\n<p>La amenaza de derribo sobre este edificio no radica en su estado de conservaci\u00f3n, sino en los planes de construir un hotel en su lugar.<\/p>\n<p>Los balcones, ventanas y molduras del tercer y cuarto piso est\u00e1n protegidos en el PGOU (Plan General de Ordenaci\u00f3n Urbana) con un nivel 2. En el tercer piso, se sustituyeron los balcones de cada vano por una balconada, reutilizando las barandillas originales. En el segundo piso, se construy\u00f3 un mirador en voladizo que cubr\u00eda los tres vanos originales que se mantienen en el interior. En el primer piso, fueron anulados los balcones para a\u00f1adir la decoraci\u00f3n que simulaba rollos de pel\u00edculas de cine.<\/p>\n<p>Este edificio no tiene una protecci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica, pero ha sido propuesto para Bien de Relevancia Local (BRL) con informes favorables de la Universitat de Val\u00e8ncia. El edificio se encuentra en buen estado de conservaci\u00f3n, f\u00e1cilmente recuperable para su uso y puesta en valor. No presenta ning\u00fan tipo de patolog\u00eda grave que pueda llegar a afectar su integridad estructural.<\/p>\n<p>__<\/p>\n<p><strong>HISPANIA NOSTRA PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hispania Nostra<\/strong> issued a statement on June 15, 2023 opposing the <strong>demolition of the Metropol cinema<\/strong> located on Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s Street in <strong>Valencia (Spain).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cinema was built in 1934 based on a project by architect Francisco Javier Goerlich. The architectural style of the building is Valencian art deco. It is the last cinema of the Second Republic period (1932-1934), in which the original facade of the 1882 building, designed by Gaspar Latorre, was respected.<\/p>\n<p>The threat of demolition on this building does not lie in its state of preservation, but in the plans to build a hotel in its place.<\/p>\n<p>The balconies, windows and moldings of the third and fourth floors are protected in the PGOU (Plan General de Ordenaci\u00f3n Urbana) with a level 2. On the third floor, the balconies of each span were replaced by a balcony, reusing the original railings. On the second floor, a cantilevered bay window was built to cover the three original openings that remain in the interior. On the second floor, the balconies were cancelled to add the decoration that simulated movie reels.<\/p>\n<p>This building has no specific protection, but it has been proposed for Bien de Relevancia Local (BRL) with favorable reports from the Universitat de Val\u00e8ncia. The building is in a good state of conservation, easily recoverable for its use and enhancement.
