D\u00cdA MUNDIAL DEL COMERCIO JUSTO<\/h3>\t\t\t

El 11 de mayo<\/strong> es el D\u00eda Mundial del Comercio Justo.<\/strong><\/p>\n

El Comercio Justo es un movimiento internacional que pretende garantizar una mayor justicia global en los \u00e1mbitos econ\u00f3mico, social, humano y medioambiental.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial del Comercio Justo (WFTO), la definici\u00f3n literal del Comercio Justo es \u201caquel sistema comercial basado en el di\u00e1logo, la transparencia, el respeto, que busca una mayor equidad en el comercio internacional prestando especial atenci\u00f3n a criterios sociales y medioambientales. Contribuye as\u00ed, al desarrollo sostenible ofreciendo mejores condiciones comerciales y asegurando los derechos de productores\/as y trabajadores\/as desfavorecidos, especialmente en el Sur\u201d.<\/p>\n

Uno de los principales beneficios del comercio justo es que garantiza un precio justo y estable para los productores, lo que les permite cubrir sus costos de producci\u00f3n y obtener un ingreso digno para sostener a sus familias. Adem\u00e1s, fomenta relaciones comerciales a largo plazo, lo que proporciona estabilidad econ\u00f3mica y reduce la vulnerabilidad de los productores a las fluctuaciones del mercado.<\/p>\n

En t\u00e9rminos de sostenibilidad, el comercio justo promueve pr\u00e1cticas agr\u00edcolas y de producci\u00f3n respetuosas con el medio ambiente. Muchos productos de comercio justo son cultivados utilizando m\u00e9todos org\u00e1nicos, lo que minimiza el uso de pesticidas y fertilizantes qu\u00edmicos, protegiendo as\u00ed la salud de los agricultores y la biodiversidad local. Adem\u00e1s, se fomenta la conservaci\u00f3n de los recursos naturales y la reducci\u00f3n de la huella de carbono a lo largo de toda la cadena de suministro.<\/p>\n

Otro aspecto importante es que el comercio justo prioriza el respeto por los derechos laborales, incluyendo condiciones de trabajo seguras y justas, la prohibici\u00f3n del trabajo infantil y el derecho a la libertad de asociaci\u00f3n y negociaci\u00f3n colectiva. Estas pr\u00e1cticas contribuyen a mejorar las condiciones de vida de los trabajadores y sus comunidades, promoviendo as\u00ed el desarrollo humano sostenible.<\/p>\n

En resumen, el comercio justo no solo beneficia a los productores y trabajadores al garantizarles condiciones laborales justas y un ingreso digno, sino que tambi\u00e9n promueve la sostenibilidad ambiental al fomentar pr\u00e1cticas de producci\u00f3n responsables. Fair Trade is an international movement that aims to ensure greater global justice in the economic, social, human and environmental spheres.
\nAccording to the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), the literal definition of Fair Trade is “that trading system based on dialogue, transparency, respect, which seeks greater equity in international trade with special attention to social and environmental criteria. It thus contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions and ensuring the rights of disadvantaged producers and workers, especially in the South”.<\/p>\n

One of the main benefits of fair trade is that it guarantees a fair and stable price for producers, allowing them to cover their production costs and earn a decent income to support their families. It also fosters long-term trading relationships, which provides economic stability and reduces producers’ vulnerability to market fluctuations.<\/p>\n

In terms of sustainability, fair trade promotes environmentally friendly farming and production practices. Many fair trade products are grown using organic methods, which minimizes the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, thus protecting farmers’ health and local biodiversity. In addition, the conservation of natural resources and the reduction of the carbon footprint along the entire supply chain are encouraged.
\nAnother important aspect is that fair trade prioritizes respect for labor rights, including safe and fair working conditions, the prohibition of child labor, and the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. These practices contribute to improving the living conditions of workers and their communities, thus promoting sustainable human development.
\nIn short, fair trade not only benefits producers and workers by ensuring fair working conditions and a decent income, but also promotes environmental sustainability by encouraging responsible production practices. By choosing fair trade products, consumers can contribute to building a more just, equitable and sustainable world for all.<\/p>\n
