DÍA INTERNACIONAL DE LOS MUSEOS

Hoy, 18 de mayo, se celebra el Día Internacional de los Museos, con el objetivo de concienciar a las personas acerca de la relevancia de los museos como medio y herramienta para llevar a cabo un intercambio cultural.
Esta efeméride se creó por parte de una iniciativa del Consejo Internacional de Museos (ICOM) en el año 1977.
Un museo, según el ICOM es “una institución sin ánimo de lucro, permanente y al servicio de la sociedad, que investiga, colecciona, conserva, interpreta y exhibe el patrimonio material e inmaterial. Abiertos al público, accesibles e inclusivos, los museos fomentan la diversidad y la sostenibilidad. Con la participación de las comunidades, los museos operan y comunican ética y profesionalmente, ofreciendo experiencias variadas para la educación, el disfrute, la reflexión y el intercambio de conocimientos.”.
El lema para este 2023 es “Museos, Sostenibilidad y Bienestar”.

INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY
Today, May 18, International Museum Day is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness of the relevance of museums as a means and tool for cultural exchange.
This event was created by an initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977.
A museum, according to ICOM, is “a non-profit institution, permanent and at the service of society, which researches, collects, conserves, interprets and exhibits tangible and intangible heritage. Open to the public, accessible and inclusive, museums foster diversity and sustainability. Engaging communities, museums operate and communicate ethically and professionally, offering varied experiences for education, enjoyment, reflection, and knowledge sharing.”
The motto for this 2023 is “Museums, Sustainability and Wellbeing”.
