OCEAN STREET ART FESTIVAL
La semana pasada, del 22 al 26 de mayo, se celebró en la Universitat Politècnica de València el XVIII encuentro de Arte Urbano POLINIZADOS. Este festival cuenta con un gran prestigio mundial y recibe artistas tanto locales, como internacionales.
Durante una semana, el campus universitario se llena de artistas urbanos que plasman sus proyectos e identidad en los distintos muros asignados por la organización del festival.
Desde Ocean Art Project, proyecto de Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural UPV, se lanzó una convocatoria a todos los institutos y centros FP de la Comunidad Valenciana para participar en una iniciativa que coincidía con el marco de realización de Polinizados con el objetivo de que la juventud pudiera vivir el ambiente del festival de arte urbano.
Tras la recepción de bocetos provenientes de las tres provincias, el centro ganador fue el IES L’Eliana, cuyo boceto presentó el título “¿Por qué apagamos la luz?”. Rebeca Catalá San Frutos, docente responsable del centro de L’Eliana, junto a los alumnos artistas, creadores de la idea y del mural, quisieron expresar la responsabilidad humana sobre el cuidado de los mares a través de un boceto que explicaba claramente una dualidad en nuestro océano con fauna en actitud de defensa ante las acciones humanas.
Una vez más, la juventud toma la iniciativa de lanzar un mensaje claro, ubicado en la entrada de la Facultad de Bellas Artes para concienciar a todo aquel que pueda disfrutar del mural realizado sobre el cuidado de nuestros mares.

OCEAN STREET ART FESTIVAL
Last week, from 22 to 26 May, was held at the Universitat Politècnica de València the XVIII meeting of Urban Art POLINIZADOS. This festival has a great worldwide prestige and receives both local and international artists.
For a week, the university campus is filled with urban artists who capture their projects and identity in the different walls assigned by the organization of the festival.
From Ocean Art Project, a project of UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage UPV, a call was launched to all institutes and FP centers of the Valencian Community to participate in an initiative that coincided with the framework of Polinizados with the aim that young people could experience the atmosphere of the urban art festival.
After receiving sketches from the three provinces, the winning center was the IES L’Eliana, whose sketch presented the title “Why do we turn off the light?”. Rebeca Catalá San Frutos, the teacher in charge of the L’Eliana center, together with the student artists, creators of the idea and the mural, wanted to express human responsibility for the care of the seas through a sketch that clearly explained a duality in our ocean with fauna in an attitude of defense against human actions.
Once again, the youth take the initiative to launch a clear message, located at the entrance of the Faculty of Fine Arts to raise awareness to anyone who can enjoy the mural made on the care of our seas.
