EXCISS 2024
El Instituto de Restauración del Patrimonio de la Universitat Politècnica de València organiza EXCISS 2024, un congreso internacional orientado a la Conservación y Restauración de pinturas murales que se encuentran en condiciones extremas y que requieren metodologías innovadoras y sostenibles.
Este encuentro tendrá lugar en Valencia del 21 al 23 de noviembre de 2024. Motivado por la situación que afronta el mundo, como los conflictos bélicos o el evidente impacto del cambio climático, se plantea la necesidad de desarrollar estrategias de conservación preventiva y otros protocolos de urgencia que permita afrontar los riesgos y salvaguardar así, este tipo de patrimonio de la manera más eficiente y sostenible posible.
El congreso presentará una estructura a través de los siguientes módulos:
- Protocolos de actuación ante emergencias y desastres que afectan a la pintura mural.
- Tratamientos y soluciones en pinturas murales afectadas por eventos extremos.
- Revisión de intervenciones pasadas inadecuadas sobre pintura mural en situaciones extremas.
- Conservación preventiva de pinturas murales ante el cambio climático y emergencias.
El plazo para el envío de resúmenes se encuentra ya abierto y finalizará el 15 de marzo de 2024

The Heritage Restoration Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València is organising EXCISS 2024, an international congress focused on the Conservation and Restoration of mural paintings that are in extreme conditions and require innovative and sustainable methodologies.
This meeting will take place in Valencia from 21 to 23 November 2024. Motivated by the situation the world is facing, such as armed conflicts or the evident impact of climate change, the need to develop preventive conservation strategies and other emergency protocols to address the risks and thus safeguard this type of heritage in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.
The congress will be structured around the following modules:
1. Protocols for dealing with emergencies and disasters that affect mural painting.
2. Treatments and solutions for wall paintings affected by extreme events.
3. Review of past inadequate interventions on wall paintings in extreme situations.
4. Preventive conservation of wall paintings in the face of climate change and emergencies.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is now open and will end on 15 March 2024.
