La asociación española Hispania Nostra es la responsable de la creación, en 2006, de la llamada Lista Roja del Patrimonio. A su vez, existen otras dos clasificaciones que se suman a esta última mencionada: Lista Verde y Lista Negra del Patrimonio con multitud de monumentos pertenecientes al territorio español.
Esta división se enmarca en el objetivo de catalogar los bienes culturales en base a su estado de conservación. De esta manera, se pueden observar las siguientes categorías:
- Lista Roja: vienen incluidos todos los elementos del patrimonio cultural español que presentan un riesgo de desaparición, destrucción o alteración de sus valores. A través de la delimitación de estos peligros, se pretende darlos a conocer y perseguir su consolidación o restauración. Formada por un total de 1158 bienes.
- Lista Verde: se añaden aquellos bienes que han sido retirados de la Lista roja del patrimonio al desaparecer el riesgo que presentaban. Compuesta por 193 monumentos.
- Lista Negra: se encuentran todos los bienes culturales que han sido retirados de la Lista Roja por su desaparición o alteración en los valores esenciales de forma irreversible. En esta Lista, están incluidos 14 bienes culturales.
Por otro lado, todas las Listas mencionadas se pueden encontrar en la página web de la asociación y permite la libre navegación y búsqueda, tanto por regiones, comunidades autónomas y monumentos específicos. A su vez, se incluyen formularios de solicitud de ingreso en la Lista Roja. A partir de la evaluación de la asociación, estos bienes, si son finalmente incluidos, podrán actualizarse cambiando de categoría en base al estado de conservación.
Entidades como la UNESCO o Hispania Nostra se encargan de la evaluación continua del estado de conservación de los bienes culturales para dotarlos de una clasificación que permita, no sólo su difusión, sino también la propuesta inmediata de posibles soluciones con el fin de proteger nuestro patrimonio y, con él, una parte fundamental de lo que somos.
¿El objetivo? Reducir la clasificación a un único color: el verde.

HERITAGE CONSERVATION: THE THREE LISTS OF HISPANIA NOSTRA
The Spanish association Hispania Nostra is responsible for the creation, in 2006, of the so-called Red Heritage List. In turn, there are two other classifications in addition to the latter: the Green List and the Black List of Heritage with a multitude of monuments belonging to the Spanish territory.
This division is framed within the objective of cataloguing cultural assets based on their state of conservation. In this way, the following categories can be observed:
- Red List: all the elements of the Spanish cultural heritage that present a risk of disappearance, destruction or alteration of their values are included. Through the delimitation of these dangers, it is intended to make them known and pursue their consolidation or restoration. Formed by a total of 1158 assets.
- Green List: it adds those properties that have been removed from the Red List of heritage when the risk they presented disappeared. Composed of 193 monuments.
- Black List: all cultural properties that have been removed from the Red List due to their disappearance or irreversible alteration of their essential values. This List includes 14 cultural properties.
On the other hand, all the aforementioned Lists can be found on the Hispania Nostra website. The lists can be freely browsed and searched, both by region, autonomous community and specific monuments. In turn, application forms for inclusion in the Red List are included. Based on the association's evaluation, these properties, if they are finally included, can be updated by changing their category based on their state of conservation.
Entities such as UNESCO or Hispania Nostra are in charge of the continuous examination of the state of conservation of cultural assets in order to provide them with a classification that allows, not only their dissemination, but also the immediate proposal of possible solutions in order to protect our heritage and, with it, a fundamental part of who we are.
The objective? To reduce the classification to a single color: green.
