OCEAN ART PROJECT EN LA FERIA DE INVENTOS UPV 2023
La evolución de los servicios de telecomunicación forma parte del progreso de nuestra cultura. Es interesante entender que las soluciones que se fueron aplicando a lo largo de la historia responden a la necesidad de resolver problemas concretos de la sociedad de la época, haciendo uso de los avances tecnológicos disponibles en cada momento.
Hay que adelantar que los primeros sistemas eran de uso exclusivamente gubernamental y después se abrieron al público, pero surgieron limitaciones debido al alto nivel de población analfabeta; por tal motivo, algunos quedaron limitados a principio de su explotación al comercio, a los sectores financieros e informativos.
Es inmensa la magnitud de las labores llevadas a cabo en su día para que la implantación de los primeros sistemas de telecomunicación en el mar fuera posible, sistemas extremadamente complejos para la época y auténticos hitos tecnológicos que cambiaron el mundo tal como se concebía. Merece una mención especial el esfuerzo realizado por todas las personas que dedicaron su trabajo a diseñar e implantar los sistemas y equipos, a desarrollar los servicios y a que todo funcionara de manera desapercibida.
Ocean Art Project, proyecto de investigación perteneciente a la Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural participa, este año, en la Feria de Inventos de la UPV y cuenta con la colaboración del Museo Histórico Militar de Valencia, la Asociación de Amigos del Museo Histórico Militar de Valencia y el Museo de la Telecomunicación Vicente Miralles Segarra (Museus UPV).
En esta pequeña muestra, Ocean Art Project exhibe distintas piezas museísticas que explican la evolución de las telecomunicaciones a través de un discurso centrando en la comunicación marítima, entre barcos, con barcos a tierra y haciendo especial hincapié en los distintos alfabetos y modos de comunicación específicos del mar.
Este evento tendrá lugar el día 10 de junio a partir de las 11 h de la mañana en el Tinglado num.2 del Puerto de Valencia.

OCEAN ART PROJECT AT THE UPV INVENTION FAIR 2023
The evolution of telecommunication services is part of the progress of our culture. It is interesting to understand that the solutions that were applied throughout history respond to the need to solve specific problems of the society of the time, making use of the technological advances available at each moment.
It should be noted that the first systems were exclusively for governmental use and were later opened to the public, but limitations arose due to the high level of illiterate population; for this reason, some of them were limited at the beginning of their exploitation to commerce, financial and information sectors.
The magnitude of the work carried out at the time to make possible the implementation of the first telecommunication systems at sea is immense, extremely complex systems for the time and true technological milestones that changed the world as it was conceived. Special mention should be made of the effort made by all the people who dedicated their work to design and implement the systems and equipment, to develop the services and to make everything work unnoticed.
Ocean Art Project, a research project belonging to the UNESCO Chair participates, this year, in the Fair of Inventions of the UPV and has the collaboration of the Military History Museum of Valencia, the Association of Friends of the Military History Museum of Valencia and the Museum of Telecommunications Vicente Miralles Segarra (Museus UPV).
In this small exhibition, Ocean Art Project exhibits different museum pieces that explain the evolution of telecommunications through a discourse focusing on maritime communication, between ships, with ships to land and with special emphasis on the different alphabets and modes of communication specific to the sea.
This event will take place on June 10 from 11 am in the morning at the Tinglado num.2 of the Port of Valencia.
