VICTORIA VIVANCOS, NUEVA DIRECTORA DEL IRP-UPV: UNA OPORTUNIDAD PARA REFORZAR LA COLABORACIÓN CON LA CÁTEDRA UNESCO FORUM
La Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) ha designado a la catedrática y Directora de la Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural UPV, María Victoria Vivancos Ramón, como nueva directora del Instituto Universitario de Restauración del Patrimonio (IRP). Con una dilatada trayectoria en el ámbito de la conservación y restauración de bienes culturales, asume este cargo tras ocho años de gestión del profesor Paco Juan.
María Victoria Vivancos ha sido profesora en el Departamento de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales de la UPV durante más de tres décadas, contribuyendo significativamente a la formación de nuevas generaciones de profesionales en este campo. Su labor investigadora se ha centrado en áreas como el análisis de la retablística gótica y barroca valenciana, la desinsectación con microondas del patrimonio y los métodos no destructivos de indagación sobre el patrimonio. Desde 2018, dirige la Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural de la UPV, promoviendo la cooperación internacional en la protección y difusión del patrimonio cultural.
Bajo su liderazgo, el IRP continuará con su misión de investigar, conservar y difundir el patrimonio cultural y natural. Además, el IRP ha estado involucrado en iniciativas de cooperación internacional, como la renovación de la Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural hasta 2025, con María Victoria Vivancos al frente. Esta renovación refuerza el compromiso de la UPV con la promoción de la cooperación científica y la protección del patrimonio cultural a nivel global.
La designación de María Victoria Vivancos como directora del IRP representa una apuesta por la continuidad y el fortalecimiento de proyectos que integran investigación, formación y acción social en el ámbito de la conservación del patrimonio. Su amplia experiencia y liderazgo son garantía de que el Instituto mantendrá su posición de vanguardia en la restauración y difusión del patrimonio cultural y natural.
"Estoy convencida de que esta nueva etapa permitirá una mayor colaboración entre el IRP y la Cátedra UNESCO, impulsando proyectos conjuntos, visibilizando el trabajo de nuestras investigadoras e investigadores y contribuyendo a fortalecer la dimensión internacional de la universidad en el ámbito del patrimonio", ha señalado Victoria Vivancos.

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has appointed the professor and Director of the UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage UPV, María Victoria Vivancos Ramón, as the new director of the University Institute of Heritage Restoration (IRP). With an extensive experience in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural property, she assumes this position after eight years of management of Professor Paco Juan.
María Victoria Vivancos has been a professor in the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the UPV for more than three decades, contributing significantly to the training of new generations of professionals in this field. Her research work has focused on areas such as the analysis of Valencian Gothic and Baroque altarpieces, microwave disinsectation of heritage and non-destructive methods of heritage inquiry. Since 2018, he has directed the UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage at the UPV, promoting international cooperation in the protection and dissemination of cultural heritage.
Under his leadership, the IRP will continue its mission to research, conserve and disseminate cultural and natural heritage. In addition, the IRP has been involved in international cooperation initiatives, such as the renewal of the UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage until 2025, with María Victoria Vivancos at the helm. This renewal reinforces the commitment of the UPV with the promotion of scientific cooperation and the protection of cultural heritage at a global level.
The appointment of María Victoria Vivancos as director of the IRP represents a commitment to the continuity and strengthening of projects that integrate research, training and social action in the field of heritage conservation. Her extensive experience and leadership are a guarantee that the Institute will maintain its leading position in the restoration and dissemination of cultural and natural heritage.
