RENOVACIÓN DE NUESTRA CÁTEDRA

¡ESTAMOS DE ENHORABUENA! La Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural UPV ha conseguido su renovación hasta 2025 con María Victoria Vivancos a la cabeza como Directora.

La Cátedra UNESCO Forum Universidad y Patrimonio Cultural (2013), recoge la experiencia en la gestión de la Red Internacional Forum UNESCO – Universidad y Patrimonio (FUUP), surgida en 1995 con la firma de un convenio entre la UNESCO y la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), con el objetivo de implicar a profesores, investigadores, estudiantes y profesionales de todo el mundo en la realización de actividades en favor de la protección y salvaguarda del Patrimonio Cultural y Natural, en línea con los ideales de la UNESCO. La red cuenta actualmente con más de 3.000 miembros de 130 países.

En este contexto el alcance y los objetivos de la Cátedra UNESCO son favorables para fomentar la cooperación en materia de enseñanza superior, ciencias, cultura, comunicación e información  y la Cultura para el Desarrollo Sostenible 2030 y en particular con los siguientes objetivos estratégicos:

• Promover la cooperación científica internacional en temas críticos para el desarrollo sostenible en consonancia con los ODS 2030.
• Apoyar el desarrollo social inclusivo, fomentar el diálogo intercultural para el acercamiento de las culturas y promover los principios éticos.
• Proteger, promover y transmitir el Patrimonio Cultural.
• Fomentar la creatividad y la diversidad de las expresiones culturales.
• Promover la libertad de expresión, el desarrollo de los medios de comunicación y el acceso a la información y el conocimiento.
• Concienciar de la necesaria protección del Patrimonio Cultural, teniendo en cuenta su diversidad (natural y cultural, mueble e inmueble, material e inmaterial) y su triple función: identidad, vector de desarrollo, e instrumento de reconciliación.
• Apoyar a la difusión y aplicación de las convenciones internacionales relativas a la protección de los bienes culturales(1954, 1970, 1972 y 2001) y al Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial (2003), en particular reforzando el objetivo estratégico de la UNESCO de “proteger y valorizar el patrimonio cultural de manera sostenible”.

Nuestras principales actividades son:

– Organizar y colaborar en actividades para documentar, proteger y divulgar el Patrimonio Cultural y Natural.

– Realizar cursos y actividades formativas relacionadas con la transmisión de nuestro Patrimonio Cultural y Natural y la Cultura Sostenible.

– Promover la comunicación y el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias entre los miembros de la Red FUUP.

– Investigar en el ámbito nacional e internacional sobre la conservación del patrimonio cultural.

– Creación y consolidación de redes y grupos de investigación multidisciplinares en proyectos sobre Patrimonio Cultural.

– Proporcionar  visibilidad a los trabajos de investigación, así como divulgar actividades, proyectos y noticias,  a través de nuestras redes sociales y la Red FUUP.

– Reforzar la cooperación entre universidades,  disciplinas,  académicos y profesionales del Patrimonio Cultural con las redes existentes afines.

– Colaborar en la difusión e implementación de los ODS 2030: El Patrimonio Cultural como generador de ODS.

WE ARE IN LUCK! The UNESCO Chair Forum University and Cultural Heritage UPV has achieved its renewal until 2025 with María Victoria Vivancos at the head as Director.

The UNESCO Chair UNESCO Forum University and Cultural Heritage (2013), collects the experience in the management of the International Network Forum UNESCO – University and Heritage (FUUH), which emerged in 1995 with the signing of an agreement between UNESCO and the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), with the aim of involving teachers, researchers, students and professionals from around the world in carrying out activities for the protection and safeguarding of Cultural and Natural Heritage, in line with the ideals of UNESCO. The network currently has more than 3,000 members from 130 countries.

In this context the scope and objectives of the UNESCO Chair are favorable to foster cooperation in higher education, science, culture, communication and information and Culture for Sustainable Development 2030 and in particular with the following strategic objectives:

• Promote international scientific cooperation on critical issues for sustainable development in line with the SDGs 2030.
• Support inclusive social development, foster intercultural dialogue for the rapprochement of cultures and promote ethical principles.
• Protect, promote and transmit cultural heritage.
• Encourage creativity and diversity of cultural expressions.
• To promote freedom of expression, the development of the media and access to information and knowledge.
• Raise awareness of the need to protect Cultural Heritage, taking into account its diversity (natural and cultural, movable and immovable, tangible and intangible) and its triple function: identity, vector of development, and instrument of reconciliation.
• To support the dissemination and implementation of the international conventions on the protection of cultural property (1954, 1970, 1972 and 2001) and Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), in particular by reinforcing UNESCO’s strategic objective of “protecting and enhancing cultural heritage in a sustainable manner”.

Our main activities are:

– Organize and collaborate in activities to document, protect and disseminate the Cultural and Natural Heritage.

– To carry out courses and training activities related to the transmission of our Cultural and Natural Heritage and Sustainable Culture.

– To promote communication and the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the members of the FUUH Network.

– To carry out national and international research on the conservation of cultural heritage.

– To create and consolidate networks and multidisciplinary research groups in projects on Cultural Heritage.

– Provide visibility to research work, as well as disseminate activities, projects and news, through our social networks and the FUUH Network.

– Strengthen cooperation between universities, disciplines, academics and professionals in the field of Cultural Heritage with existing related networks.

– Collaborate in the dissemination and implementation of the SDG 2030: Cultural Heritage as a generator of SDGs.

With this news, we continue preparing proposals and working to conserve our cultural heritage.
